Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the plant's continuous quality and process improvement efforts by initiating positive customer technical interactions, coordinating process and raw material changes, develping suppliers and raw material quality, faciltiating teams and a high performance work force, and increasing profits by leading manufacturing process improvements. Primary Responsibilities * Provide plant leadership for implementing quality policies, setting objectives, and achieving annual improvement goals. * Manage plant quality system insuring plant is in compliance with division standard instructions and customer requirements. * Act as primary quality contact for customer complaints and technical support. * Manage the specification, test method and standard instruction systems and changes to each which apply to plant-specific targets. * Manage the Customer Feedback Report (CFR) process within the Notes database by tracking CFR status and insuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are effective. * Manage the return of non-conforming product, making recommendations for sorting and/or disposal. * Ensure non-conforming raw materials are isolated, communicated to appropriate internal and external sources and disposed of correctly. * Provide team skills training and statistical support to plant operations personnel, as required. * Monitor plant SPC data and make recommendations to insure that plant is consistently manufacturing product within specification. * Pursue updated inspection, gauging, and testing technique. Conduct R&R studies on gages as required. Manage calibration program. * Conduct self-assessment GMP, HACCP, quality systems, and ISO audits as per prescribed schedules. * Manage automated data collection systems, to include COA generation, where applicable. * Ensure that change control is properly followed whenever process or raw material changes are made within the plant. * Manage traceability system and conduct mock recalls as required. * Aid in field audits as directed. * Perform line validations as major changes are made or new products are developed. * Ensure all plant required quality training is conducted. * Stay abreast of trends and developments in the quality field for application in the plant. * Recommend changes as appropriate. * Provide direction to quality technician and inspectors.
