Quality Reliability Engineer -Calibration
We are seeking a talented Quality Reliability Engineer - Calibration to join the Powertrain Quality & Reliability Engineering team with Chrysler's Quality Organization. This is an instrumental role in the development of and integration of the calibration and reliability strategy for Chrysler's vehicle line.
The candidate must be knowledgeable in reliability testing techniques and root cause analysis as they pertain to the vehicle powertrain systems, including on-board diagnostics and calibration methods and processes. The selected candidate must be able to implement the calibration reliability strategy and manage the associated risk of new powertrain development programs. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in automotive drivelines (transmission, transfer cases, axles) - design and manufacture, or in a Quality - Reliability Engineering role. The Quality Reliability Engineer -- Calibration is responsible for:
• Development and execution of system-level reliability test plan
• Management of program risk assessment process for system-level reliability objectives
• Assisting in development and facilitation of system level design FMEA
• Supporting engineering in root cause analysis of development issues linked to the reliability test plan
• Assisting in revisions to test schedules and reliability methods
• Monitoring of vehicles and test properties of reliability test plan
• Presenting reliability status and program assessment to senior management
The successful candidate must have experience managing cross-functionally, be a creative problem solver, and steadfast in the identification and resolution of vehicle quality. S/he will have a broad knowledge of the entire automotive engineering, manufacturing and quality landscape. The candidate must be high-energy, hands-on individual with strength of convictions -- a self-confident leader who, in part due to his/her personal presence, style and demeanor, effectively sells ideas and solutions to others. Moreover, this candidate must possess outstanding teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish and preserve a positive relationship with all personnel. Most importantly, this person must have unquestioned integrity.
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor degree or higher in technical field of study
• Minimum 3 years reliability or OBD, calibration engineering experience, including experience in creating test plans, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) development and facilitation, and problem solving techniques
• Requires either a demonstrated expertise in automotive drivelines
• Leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications: • Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, CRE or CQE
• Design for Six Sigma or Robust Engineering certification (Black Belt, Green Belt)
• Supervisory experience
