Description: Directs and supervises quality technicians and Inspectors to maintain quality throughout manufacturing, layout (Days only) and calibration (Days only). This position is responsible for contributing to a safe work place and minimizing negative environmental impacts by complying with the EHS policies, procedures, work instructions outlined in the EHSMS Training Assessment for this position.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support and supervise the shift of Quality Technicians Production Support (includes directing and balancing the work load for technicians ensuring they have the tools to perform their job, responsible for discipline and reviews, as well as all aspects of supervision). 2. Support and supervise the shift of Inspectors (includes directing and balancing the work load for Inspectors ensuring they have the tools to perform their job, responsible for discipline and reviews, as well as all aspects of supervision). 3. Has responsibility and authority to Stop Production to correct Quality problems. 4. Has responsibility and authority to undertake Disposition of Material in accordance with defined Procedures and standards. 5. Coordinate department activities with other Shift Managers. 6. Monitor and direct expenditures of quality accounts. 7. Assist Human Resources Department in interviewing and hiring of quality technicians and Inspectors. 8. Maintains visual standards and standard revisions/new and updated. 9. Assists with prototype and quality issues. 10. Support and supervise the shift of Quality Technicians Calibration and Quality Technicians Die Layout (includes directing and balancing the work load for technicians ensuring they have the tools to perform their job, responsible for discipline and reviews, as well as all aspects of supervision). Requirements: 1. Associates degree in management is preferred. 2. Minimum of 5 years quality experience is with 3 years in automotive industry preferred. 3. ASQC CQE/CQM a plus. 4. Must have previous experience or training on a personal computer and printer and utilize word processing and computer spreadsheets. 5. Must pass FM South Bend quality tech test. 6. Good interpersonal skills needed to interface with internal and external contacts.
