Job Description
AFL Telecommunications, a leading global fiber optics telecommunications company has an immediate opening for a Quality Technician . The individual will be responsible for assisting in coordinating internal & external quality audits, follow up on IAR’s, coordinate & be responsible for the FAI process in SPB, support SPB based training activities, & assist the SCM group with technical support in the evaluation, audit, & selection of US based suppliers. This position will also support and assist the R&D Engineering group with testing & prop typing activities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Establishing, administrating SPB FAI program. * Oversees the SPB calibration program for equipment in both the admin. Center & hillside. * In charge of the SPB based document control & facilitating annual document reviews & modifications. * Monitors periodic quality for non MTY manufactured products. * Conducts engineering test on new products as defined by the R&D Engineering Manager * Conducts engineering prototype builds as defined by the R&D Engineering Manager. * Support the TL 9000 coordinator with internal audits, responsible for the coordination & preparation for all internal & external audits. Responsible for SPB lead IAR follow up & close out.
Skills/Requirements
* Bachelor degree with technical emphasis or equivalent * 3 years of working experience as a Quality Technician * 3+ years of working experience in manufacturing related industries * 1 year in a leadership supervisory role * 3+ years in project management * Proficient user of MS Office applications * Excellent oral and written communications skills * ISO-9001/TS training is preferred * Up to 10% travel required on weekends
