General Purpose of Job: To facilitate the assigned region’s continuous safety improvement and compliance with regulatory agencies by following the values of “The Watlow Way.” Organization: Reports to: Corporate HS&E Director. Location: This position will be based in our St. Louis facility but will ultimately have responsibility for the HS&E activities in both the St. Louis facility as well as our Hannibal facility. Direct Reports: None Indirect Reports: Safety Specialists, Safety Committees, First Aid Teams Duties & Responsibilities: * Work closely with Corporate HS&E Director, Leadership Teams, Safety Specialists and Safety Committees. * Develop an Annual HS&E Operating Plan, by facility, to include budget, goals and * Administer proactive regulatory HS&E programs and corrective actions to continuously improve HS&E. * Administer audit processes to identify opportunities and utilize data to formulate corrective actions. * Coordinate and conduct HS&E training to all levels of the organization as required by Watlow Operations. * Actively participate in Lean Manufacturing events to ensure continuous operational improvement. * Aggressively manage workers’ compensation claims, coordination of case management and restricted duty program. * Facilitate Root Cause Corrective Action to determine cause to reduce or eliminate incidents. * Coach and mentor Safety Specialists and Safety Committees to proactively address HS&E activities. * Participate and sign off on equipment and cell designs to ensure that ergonomic and other safety issues are addressed. * Drive Watlow ergonomic initiatives throughout entire facility, including manufacturing, administration, technology and production teams. Certified Safety Professional a plus. * Thorough knowledge and practical application of safety practices and procedures used in a manufacturing environment. * Thorough knowledge and practical application of Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental laws and regulations. * Thorough knowledge and practical application of State Workers Compensation laws. * Have a strong knowledge and understanding of Occupational Safety and understand the basics of Industrial Hygiene and Health. * Have a strong knowledge of Environmental Management, with the proven ability to strategically manage environmental compliance. * Have strong knowledge of Process Safety and able to demonstrate technical expertise. * Business Process Owner for external sustainability references like ISO14001 or OHSAS18001. * Proventrack recordin driving cultural change in HSE. * Proven record of problem solving, results and accomplishments.
