Position Objective: The prime function of the Road Mechanic is to correct and prevent equipment malfunctions at the customer job site
Position Responsibilities: * Service equipment as required to ensure proper operating condition at the job site. * Effectively communicates equipment issues with customers and supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction. * Perform safety inspections on equipment and maintains a clean and safe work environment. * Conduct preventive maintenance when needed. * Clean work vehicle and work area as necessary to maintain a safe work environment. * Meets all company, governmental and equipment related safety requirements. * Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor or authorized personnel. Requirements
Education and Requirements: * High School Diploma * Some trade school desirable * DOT Physical Examination (Medical card)
Years Experience: * 1 -2 years experience with similar equipment
Other requirements: * Must own and be able to effectively and safely use mechanic’s tools and equipment * Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record * Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check * Ability to communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments * Must have good written and verbal communication skills * Ability to prioritize work assignments * Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems including (but not limited to) mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components. * Exhibit personal and professional integrity * Exhibit a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety * Must be flexible regarding work assignments * Must exhibit a high level of safety consciousness * Possess a working knowledge of individual equipment design and safety requirements
