Description


The E&D Project Safety Manager is responsible for the day-to-day safety management of the E&D jobsite assigned by the Profit Center Manager or the Scaffold Safety Manager. The primary objective is to ensure the field employees are working in a safe manner while meeting our customer’s objectives. This person will assist the other supervisors and foremen in maintaining jobsite safety compliance as well as perform their duties on projects. Listed below are some of the direct responsibilities of the E&D Project Safety Manager, but is not limited to the following tasks:


* Assist in developing Jobsite Safety Plans, Job Hazard Analysis, Job Safety Analysis and Safety Plans for Scaffold Erectors.
* Communicating with the customer representatives and the Sunbelt’s supervisory and management team concerning issues relevant to the E&D jobs; and
* Promoting the company’s business while on various job sites by exemplifying good conduct and organization skills along with actual customer exploitation via personal visits and company business cards.
* Meeting with and attending customers safety representative concerning issues

Job Preparation

* Conduct and Assist in jobsite safety meetings and tool box safety talks;
* Determine specific job requirements and efficient safety equipment needs with consideration on available equipment in the Branch/Region;
* Establish contacts at each job site as well as becoming familiar with the site and relaying this information to each E&D employee assigned to the site to work;
* Conduct Pre-Outage activities as necessary including:
* Sunbelt Rentals Orientation
* Customer/Site Orientation
* Pre-Outage Safety Action Plans
* Clinic setup with visit


* Maintain all job box safety supplies on a site-by-site basis including all relevant safety criteria required;
* Verify with Plant Safety Department, all pertinent issues & training requirements and ensure that all E&D personnel are briefed upon arriving at the site to work; and

Job Execution

* Coordination of labor with Labor Manager and Project Manager as to the personnel who report are properly trained and are “ready for work". Communicate to Labor Manager and Project Manager any specific needs or training the of crew members (i.e. personal or otherwise);
* Conduct all Company and Client required safety meetings including inspections. Also prepare the JSA, Safety Plan for Erectors and any other required paperwork;
* Conduct Jobsite safety compliance
* Safety Observations of E&D crews
* Coordinate, collect, and review Safety Observations of Supervisors as required.
* Confirm and complete any necessary employee training.
* Confined Space Entry and Lockout/Tagout requirements are maintained
* Customer management. Keep our customer informed and “in the loop" at all times while job progresses;
* Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures; and
* Maintain a clean and safe work site.
* Makes every effort to attend the physician visit with injured workers or makes sure the injured worker is attended with at least a supervisor, speaks with the physician to see non-
recordable status of treatments. If unable to attend, then walk through the process with the point of contact person.
* Intervenes as required to provide follow-up of injured workers to minimize restricted/lost workdays.
* Interacts with Sunbelt jobsite supervisors to provide alternative duty work assignments on jobsites or at PC locations for injured workers.
* Perform a Daily Activity Report for the project and send to the Scaffold Safety Manager daily.
* Report any unsafe acts.
* Conduct or assist in the investigation of scaffold accidents and near-misses.

* Complete care and preventative maintenance of necessary safety equipment and tools;
* Notify operations of any deficiencies of yard equipment and tools in writing;
* The E&D Project Safety Manager shall evaluate his team by monitoring each ones progress and work to develop them to their fullest potential;
* The E&D Project Safety Manager shall keep accurate records for each member and shall ensure they are properly trained on the various company and client safety requirements for their job, as well as, providing training when required;
* Employees shall have the example set and enforcement of all required safety equipment use and application of, required by the construction manager at all times;
* The E&D Project Safety Manager shall recommend classification changes in writing to management as well as recommend disciplinary action for employees who repeatedly violate these and all company policies;
Requirements


* Extensive experience in the sale, erection and dismantling of scaffolding equipment
* Knowledge of work planning, scheduling and other supervisory activities
* Knowledge of scaffolding design and safety requirements
