Posting Job Description: Time Warner Cable currently seeks a Security Investigator in Raleigh, NC. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to perform signal security audits to determine illegal hook-ups, perform subscriber fraud investigations and perform follow-up investigations on any suspected theft or fraud in the assigned area in a manner consistent with Time Warner Cable policies, procedures, quality standards, customer needs and applicable local, state and federal regulations.
Essential Job Functions: · Assists Security Manager/Director with both internal and external investigations relating to all division security issues including financial, employee, fraud, and theft of service investigations. · Inspects previously identified illegal cable connections throughout service area ensuring subscribers and/or non-subscribers are not receiving cable services for which they are not being billed. · Performs investigations of suspected cable theft and subscriber fraud and coordinates for initial law enforcement intervention. · Initiates criminal prosecution process. Drafts, compiles and submits theft and fraud reports to Security management for review and prosecution approval. · Follows proper state procedures to obtain arrest warrants under state criminal statutes, assists in the criminal court prosecution of suspected theft / fraud offenders. · Is required to testify as a witness in court proceedings. · As required, makes light repairs in the field to secure facilities, repairs contingent upon time restraints and work load requirements. · Maintains and assesses security activities for repair, quality and effectiveness and to determine potential of physical security upgrades and modifications. This includes consulting with various department directors and managers to obtain information regarding departmental needs. · Plans and coordinates installation, monitoring and auditing of electronic security systems, closed circuit television (CCTV), entry controls, burglar alarms, ultrasonic motion detectors, outdoor perimeter, and microwave alarms. · Is available as the contact person for contracted security companies hired for equipment upgrades, maintenance, and installation of physical security systems. · Facilitates the issuance of access control codes, conducts training and investigates issues for improper use for TWC employees and contractors. · Responsible for testing and evaluation of the physical security system at assigned division facilities. · Responsible for training of employees on activation and deactivation of security alarm system at assigned division facilities. · Is available as a primary contact for building alarms and emergencies at all assigned locations. · Responsible for creating, activating and deactivating access control badges for employees and contractors. · As required, assists Security Manager/Director with procedures to maintain and ensure employee and customer data security. · As required, assists Security Manager/Director with business continuity management / crisis management efforts for the division. · Completes/Compiles necessary weekly and monthly reports and forwards to the Security Manager/Director. · Performs bi-annual audits of contractor work force. · Stays current with pricing and programming for our product. · Completes special assignments and assists in the various other field operations as directed by management.
Job Requirements: · Valid driver's license and good driving record required. · Working outdoors throughout the year. · Lifting heavy objects up to 75 lbs. including ladder, toolbox, cable and all necessary equipment. · Experience working with ladders and working at heights from 6 to 30 feet. · Must be able to make rational decisions during critically sensitive and/or hostile situations. · Able to maintain evidence according to proper evidence collection and chain of custody procedures. · Able to conduct or coordinate surveillance of locations where investigations are required. · Must be able to read and write in English proficiently and use arithmetic skills to accurately complete daily work assignments. · Must be able and willing to take initiative and handle various tasks simultaneously while working efficiently, effectively, and independently under minimal supervision · Able to work in a high-pressure environment. · Projects a cooperative and positive attitude toward customers, employees, and the Company. · Ability to work hours outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notice required. · Must maintain a courteous and professional attitude when confronted with irrational, irate or hostile persons/situations. · All other Duties As Assigned The above list of duties and responsibilities is intended to describe the overall nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
