Senior Cost Accountant
Essense Designs is an international bridal wholesaler operating in the USA, Australia, United Kingdom and Canada. It has been a bridal fashion market leader for over 15 years resulting in the labels being sold in over 500 stores internationally.
Due to our rapid growth, an exciting career opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant with strong computer and communication skills to join our dynamic team in Lenexa, Kansas. The successful applicant will be self motivated, with the ability to take a proactive approach and effectively prioritize work to ensure that all activities are completed quickly and with the upmost accuracy.
Working closely with the financial team, your duties include but are not limited to:
Stock control and management of inventory levels in international warehouses
Sales forecasts and budgets in multi currencies
Maintenance of accurate standard costs and analysis and communication of variances to management
Working with our software company in Australia to develop automated processes and improve automated reporting
Organizing and formatting reporting interfaces across multiple business functions and locations
Providing insightful contributions into strategic and risk planning that brings benefit to the bottom line
Monitoring compliance with company procedures and implementing system improvements
Special projects as assigned
Requirements:
To succeed in this role you will have:
Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA a plus
5+ years cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
Proven experience in an ERP system
Advanced ability to create reporting tools
Advanced Excel skills and query skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be comfortable and very accurate at analyzing large spreadsheets of data on a continual basis
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, deep skills in technology and data management
Ability to take ownership of ambiguous situations
A high level of flexibility, and ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast paced, changing environment
Ability to invest in the continual learning of company specific software to produce meaningful data and reports to better succeed in your role
Excellent teamwork skills, but also be able to work independently
Exceptional attention to detail and be procedure and process-oriented
Experience with Oracle platforms, Crystal Reports, and/or Goldmine CRM a plus
International accounting/foreign currency experience a plus
