In 2008, the Quality Organization within Chrysler became its own stand-alone function. Since then, the group has more than tripled in size. This growth is a testament to the commitment of Chryslers' senior management to produce a top-rated quality product. In setting high standards in the six types of quality: reliability, dissatisfaction, regulatory, perceived, performance, and service, Chrysler's product line and customer experience has improved dramatically. The teams within the Quality Organization are empowered to improve customer satisfaction for their system or area. As a result, Chrysler now has the best quality in the 73-year history of the company.
Currently we are seeking a Senior Manager Quality -- System & Component Reliability to join Chrysler's fast-growing Quality Group. The selected applicant will be a contributor to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards. We are seeking an innovative, self-motivated individual with the ability to identify initiatives that will lead Chrysler to exceed all quality measurements against their competitors. The ideal person will possess outstanding teamwork, be a high-energy, hands-on individual with strength of convictions -- a self-confident leader with personal presence, style and demeanor. The selected candidate will have experience in selecting and developing team members who can drive these successes. Good interpersonal, organizational skills, oral and written communications skills are required. Moreover, the successful candidate must effectively sell ideas and solutions to others. This person must have unquestioned integrity.
The specific responsibilities are:
• Develop quality strategy for system & component engineering (body, interior, chassis, electrical, fuel / exhaust/ cooling / air induction, restraints)
• Ensure lessons learned are implemented into validation plans, performance specifications, DFMEA and design rules for new components & systems
• Perform peer reviews of technology new to Chrysler
• Ensure consistent quality approach is being utilized across the engineering enterprise. Lead validation planning & establish product release criteria in times of crisis (eg. supplier plant flooding)
• Develop strong team to partner with Engineering and Supplier Quality
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, have the ability to coach as well as listen and effectively drive continuous improvement processes. As a key decision maker in a fast-paced manufacturing company, this position is a critical player to the Quality function. As such, the successful candidate will be exposed to significant growth opportunities.
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Experience in developing a test plan for new technology
• Experience in selecting team members and developing them
• Ten years combination of engineering and quality experience
• Twoyears in a supervisory role
Preferred Qualifications: • Excellent communication skills: spontaneous, concise verbal summaries for management as well as compelling PowerPoint presentations
• Expertise in creating formulas in Excel
• Statistics education and/or experience
• Experience in reliability theory including sample size requirements
• Quality certifications
