Location:Bedford, MA We seek an experiencedSenior Procurement Specialistfor our Government & Industrial Robotics Division. In this role, you will support strategic sourcing activities, including market research, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier management. This position interfaces closely with numerous disciplines within iRobot, including engineering, R&D, operations, quality, finance, legal, and corporate procurement.
Responsibilities: * Work within procurement policies, systems, and procedures consistent with requirements of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). * Document all aspects of each procurement from market research, solicitations, competition or sole/single source purchases, price and cost analysis, CAS, negotiations, advance notification/consent, small business plan, reps and certs, etc. as required per the FAR. * Assist in identifying new sources of supply to obtain best value procurements for iRobot and manage RFP/RFQ process, including evaluating suppliers on multiple criteria. * Follow market conditions, anticipate market trends, and create competitive strategies. * Aware, negotiate, and oversee various types of contracts (procurements) and ensure contracts have appropriate flow downs and supplier accountability, including performance metrics/SLA’s/warranties and resultant penalties. * Help resolve disputes and commercial issues with suppliers in conjunction with iRobot internal customers. * Provide procurement tactical support for the day-to-day operations on an as needed basis. Job Requirements : Requirements/Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field with 10 years of purchasing experience including 5 years in a DoD environment. * Experience in sourcing and procurement for government-funded projects/contracts in the area of direct and indirect materials, components and services. * Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to translate technical decisions/strategies into business terms and implications. Produces clear documentation geared to all audiences. Documentation must be compliant with government regulations/policies. * Solid project management and organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment. * Positive and energetic team player with strong cross-functional team experience. * Comfortable working with engineers and BOMs/specs/drawings generated by them and electrical, mechanical and electromechanical commodities required for purchase by them. * Strong analytical problem solving aptitude and financial acumen. * Excellent PC skills including MS office products. Experience and ability to navigate within an ERP system such as Oracle (preferred) or SAP. * Experience with preparing for and going through a Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) per FAR would be a plus. * U.S. Citizenship required. iRobot’s staff includes some of the most talented and influential people in the robotics field.
