Description
The Senior Scientist of Product Development Brand Stewardship will support beverage product development activities on the existing Juice and Sports Drinks product lines. They will provide technical expertise to cross functional business teams as well as support business system cost management and other development support needs. Strong communication skills will be utilized to effectively partner with internal and external functions including Marketing, Consumer Insights, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Sensory, Analytical Services, and Ingredient Suppliers to manage their Product Development activities from bench top through commercialization.1) Support the existing North American Juice & Sports Drink business product development efforts2) Leverage experience to formulate or reformulate & optimize beverage products3) Design and execute research to generate technical recommendations in support of business needs4) Conduct production at bench top, pilot plant, and plant levels for shelf life, stability, sales samples, scale-up, commercialization and other needs5) Support projects and work effectively in a cross functional team environment to achieve clearly defined objectives and deliverables6) Maintain updated lab notebooks & complete documentation & reports efficiently7) Assumes other responsibilities and performs special functions as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
Requirements:
- Understanding of Product Development techniques including formulation, stability testing, product/package interaction, sensory and consumer testing - Basic technical understanding of ingredient functionality and process technology for application in new product development - Sound understanding of Experimental Design - Good problem solving skills - Excellent teamwork, communication, and leadership skills - Demonstrates strong personal initiative and ability to work both individually and in a team environment - Able to analyze complex data to make clear technical recommendations - Able to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment - Able to handle a fast paced and constantly changing work environment - Understanding of cost drivers in product formulationB.S. or M.S. in Food Science, Food Engineering or Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years professional product development experience is required. Experience in consumer goods product development is preferred. Beverage industry experience is a plus. ( unable to paste Education info in the section above)
