GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineering Technician (STT) performs standard testing on a variety of training devices and records the results. In addition they will perform tests and troubleshoot assemblies and subassemblies including the wiring harness, cables and Line Replaceable Units (LRU’s). The STT will assist in hardware/software integration of production simulators and may be asked to assist with on-site delivery and testing of training devices. Troubleshoot assemblies using supplied Mechanical and Electrical drawings, schematics and wire lists. Perform Device Testing when required and write discrepancy reports on failed Trainer test steps and performs the retesting of each when the failure has been corrected. WORK ENVIRONMENT * Smoke free environment manufacturing bay or Test Lab environment. * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, access equipment in awkward locations and stand for long periods of time. Required Experience:
JOB SKILLS:Required – * Knowledge of basic test equipment including multi-meters and oscilloscopes. * Knowledge of Contractor and Government testing Processes. * Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office software. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Associate’s Degree or Technical Education Degree program * Experience of five years technical experience in simulation and/or five to eight years experience in associated technical field may be substituted for a degree. * Possess a general working knowledge of the Simulation and Training industries practices, standards and technology areas. * Military Avionics or Electronics background is a plus.
