Under the direction of the RtR Delivery Lead EMEA, the RtR Shared Services Center Manager is responsible for establishing and operating the RtR EMEA shared service center. In this capacity the RtR Shared Services Center Manager is responsible for overseeing and operating all RtR activities performed in the Shared Services Center to the quality levels specified in the various Service Level Agreements. The RtR Shared Services Manager will also act as the primary representative of the RtR Shared Services organization for the country level.
The initial focus of the incumbent will be to set up and operate the AtR activities in the Shared Service Center for EMEA. This will include significant involvement in the completion of transactional activities which will evolve into oversight and increased people management responsibility as the scope and size of RtR activities increase.
* Partners with the RtR Delivery Lead Americas to set up the Americas AtR Shared Services operation. The incumbent will develop a deep understanding of global and country accounting operations in order to effectively operate these operations in the Shared Services Center. * Ensures effective day-to-day operation of the RtR Shared Services Center. To this effect the Incumbent will coordinate a team consisting of 2 (initially) to deliver defined services (per SLA) in the areas of fixed assets (initially), general ledger, intercompany bank transactions and transactional tax * Manage/maintain an effective and motivated team that delivers high-quality service in a spirit of continued improvement. * Seeks out opportunities for streaming and rendering service delivery more efficiently, and participates in special projects to support the RtR Shared Services and other Company initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the accounting/shared services department of a multinational company including demonstrated experience in dealing with ex-US accounting * Demonstrated track record of working with non-US cultures * Excellent problem/resolution skills and an understanding of when, how, and where to escalate cases as required to meet defined service levels * High degree of integrity and personal ethics in implementing corporate policies and procedures * Effective people manager with focus on teamwork and collaboration * Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, under pressure, and with a high degree of professionalism * Must be comfortable in an environment of changing technologies and processes and demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to new ways of working * Experience in a finance/accounting shared services environment * Experience with non-US GAAP environments * Experience in dealing with internal and external auditors (in a SOX environment) * Experience with SAP * Second European Language (preferred)
