AutoReqId 35262BR Function Supply Chain Division Supply Chain & Operational Excellence External Job Title Shipping/Receiving Specialist Job Description Eaton Corporation located in Memphis TN has openings for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shift Shipping/Receiving Specialist in its Electrical Sector distribution center. The primary responsibility of a Shipping/Receiving Specialist is the movement of material into and out of the facility per supplier and customer specifications.
Other duties for this position include:
A. Sort, check, verify, record, examine and route incoming and outgoing shipments.
B. Receive and process all incoming and outgoing freight through the resource management system.
C. Pull orders according to pick sheets.
D. Use RF scan gun to move and allocate material.
E. Physically prep orders for shipment and apply paperwork to the appropriate shipment.
F. Interface with carriers and drivers while loading shipments.
G. Ensure proper orders are loaded onto the appropriate truck.
H. Communicate order status to the shipping office, customer service, and drivers.
I. Responsible for material distribution, sorting, organizing, and allocation in the production area.
J. Maintain adequate inventory levels to meet the orders from our customers through daily monitoring of inventory.
K. Assist with helping the facility in continuous improvement efforts.
L. Assist with on-the-job training.
M. Assist the team in achieving plant and department goals.
N. Adhere to all environmental health and safety rules, regulations, and work instructions.
O. Use the principles of 5S to ensure a clean and organized work area.
P. Perform other duties as required.

Job Qualifications /Educational Requirements 1. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a distribution center environment including picking and packing processes.
2. Must be familiar with shipping documents, including bill of lading and packing slips.
3. Must have flexibility to work periodic mandatory overtime schedules.
4. High School Diploma or GED required.
5. Minimum of 1 year fork lift experience is required.
6. Basic computer skills and strong attention to detail.
7. Ability to follow procedures and written instructions.
8. Strong written and oral communication skills.
9. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. frequently and have a good visual acuity.
