Software Test Technician
Title: Software Test Technician Location: KS-Olathe POSITION SUMMARY:Assist in the testing of software for Garmin's communication and navigation products in a team-oriented environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Execute manual and automated tests of Garmin software in accordance with established testing protocols to ensure quality and compliance with stated requirements · Analyze test results and communicate with Software Engineers to assist in problem resolution · Perform exploratory testing · Train and mentor new team members · May drive a Garmin vehicle to off-site locations to conduct testing of our Garmin products · If conducting testing in Garmin vehicles, responsible for maintaining driver's time record log · If conducting testing in Garmin vehicles, responsible for maintaining necessary DOT files and maintenance records for Garmin vehicles · If responsible for conducting testing in Garmin vehicles, responsible for notifying Facilities when maintenance is required for the Garmin vehicle OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: · Perform other job-related duties as assigned EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: · High School Diploma or equivalent · Excellent academics (composite GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) · Superior organizational and analytical skills · Excellent oral and written communication skills · Strong technical aptitude · Must be physically capable of operating Garmin vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, and have an acceptable driving record · Must have knowledge of all city, federal and state traffic laws, ordinances, and rules involved in motor vehicle operation
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: · Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school · Excellent academics (composite GPA greater than or equal to 3.5 as a general rule) · Previous experience working in a team environment · Experience in testing embedded devices in a core product market (Aviation, Automotive, Mobile, Marine, OEM, Fitness, Outdoor and Recreation)
