REPORTS TO:
Engineering Support Services Supervisor
POSITION OVERVIEW
Structure, change and delete Bills of Material per customer, manufacturing, sales, and engineering requests. Provide Aftermarket Parts technical support in identifying service parts, acceptable part substitutions, and establishing service part assembly levels and kits. Communicate verbally and in writing with internal departments and external customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Review customer purchase orders and engineering application approvals to determine if current product specifications meet customer requirements
• Generate revise obsolete Bills of Material to meet customer, engineering, sales, manufacturing, and aftermarket service requirements
• Maintain Bills of Material and service parts information for all AxleTech Product. Responsible for maintaining master Bills of Material for all AxleTech product designed in North America
• Administer Bill of Material changes and obsolescence as impacted by engineering release, change and delete notices
• Provide technical guidance and interaction with customers, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and service parts distribution centers
• Structure and maintain description codes for products as part of the Bill of Material
• Create and maintain exploded view service parts in the Bill of Material structure
• Support and adhere to all EHS policies and procedures
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
• 2 year technical degree
• 3 years background in similar function, mechanical design or product support
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be proficient in reading design drawings and posses good mechanical aptitude
• Mechanical experience and or assembly experience with heavy axle products viewed as advantageous
• Must be proficient in basic computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office software and familiarity with PDM and ERP systems required
• Specific experience with JD Edwards OneWorld ERP system is a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Work normally performed in office environment
• Occasional exposure to factory hazards
