Job Description
•Lead cross-functional project teams that implement design changes associated with Bioscience devices manufactured at the Cleveland, MS plant.
•Perform standard engineering assignments which are typically a significant portion of a larger project. Select sound techniques to solve problems and make design or process recommendations. Assess results for application, validity and conformance to specifications.
•Partner with Bioscience Quality Engineering and Cleveland Manufacturing/Engineering/QM departments to address manufacturing related issues or determine root cause of product failures.
•Author or review technical documents. These may include: requirements definitions, BOMs, material or process specifications, FMEAs, tolerance stack-up analyses, drawings, SOPs, and label copy.
•Study and recommend techniques to improve existing products/processes.
•Investigate new sources for raw materials or processes.
•Author and direct protocols to verify that a product meets requirements. Responsibilities include coordinating activities of a Round Lake lab technician, ensuring thorough documentation of results in laboratory notebooks, performing statistical analysis of results, and report writing.
•Participate in Product Support Team (PST) activities. Team activities often focus on identification and resolution of molding and assembly issues identified by CAPA, customer complaints, Supplier Notices of Change, or internal initiatives.
•Proactively interface with other functions and vendors to resolve issues.
•Provide technical and scientific input to support company objectives.
•Track and trend project metrics and quality indicators.
•Comply with plant, divisional, and corporate procedures and Environmental Health & Safety regulations.

Job Requirements
•Efficient and clear verbal and written communication style
•Knowledge of change control procedures and documentation, and dPDP procedures
•Track record of success leading small technical teams
•Resourceful, flexible, self-reliant, self-motivated. Ability to work effectively both independently and in team environment
•Ability to manage multiple priorities
•Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques
•Display a solid technical understanding of engineering principles and procedures (e.g. interpret and markup drawings, schedule a series of technical tasks utilizing software-based tools, etc.)
•Significant experience with product design, plastic/elastomeric molding, material joining, automated assembly, and packaging
•Experience with disposable medical devices (verification & validation, sterilization, bio-compatibility and toxicity testing, etc.) is preferred
•Willingness to travel between Round Lake, IL and Cleveland, MS, as needed
•Ability to generate experimental plans, translate them into study protocols, execute the planned experiments, and generate study reports
•Understand and articulate how own role ties within function or discipline
•Flexibility to understand and comply with multiple quality systems (Cleveland, Round Lake, Westlake Village, etc)
•Good working knowledge of Windows based applications is required
•Strong organizational skills, strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
•Ability to exercise sound judgment
•Capable of analyzing and solving complex problems
•Ability to resolve conflict in a positive and proactive manner
•Effective interpersonal and leadership skills
•Experience in operating testing equipment: Pull Tester, Leak Tester, etc.
•Bachelor degree required in: Engineering or Sciences (ME, IE, CHE, BME, EE, Biology, Chemistry, Physics). Mechanical Engineering preferred
•Three years or more of related experience required in: Product Development and/or Manufacturing. Medical Device experience preferred.
