Sr Material Coordinator
SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, primary job responsibilities include performing the following tasks per standard operating procedures in a cGMP environment:
FUNCTIONS: • Technical expert in the receipt, storage, dispensing, delivery, transfer, reconciliation, cycle counting, or shipment of materials per procedures and regulations • Area expert in the transfer or shipment hazardous materials (training certification will be provided) • Power user able to effectively troubleshoot and resolve system issues within Amgen's ERP system • Identify and report operational issues and process improvement opportunities to leadership, propose solutions, lead efforts to address • Participate in or lead group/dept specific, or multi-departmental projects • Able to train staff in range of cGMP, non-GMP and operational functions • Regularly review department's standard operating procedures, training materials, validation, and other documents to ensure completeness and accuracy, update as required • May serve as group's primary point of contact to internal and external customers for non-routine operational issues, includes investigating and resolving issues • Adhere to and enforce cGMP, OSHA, DOT, US Customs, and Amgen policies and regulations, and others as required • Ensure clean and safe work environment • Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and audits • Use of Power Industrial Vehicles (i.e. forklifts) to move warehouse materials • Commercial Drivers License Class B with Hazmat endorsement (within 90 days of employment). Operate trucks (flat bed or panel) to move warehouse materials, hazardous materials or general receiving goods following Department of Transportation regulations • Other functions may be assigned
PHYSICAL: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a staff member to successfully perform the essential functions of the job: • Standing, walking or moving around offices, work site or Amgen buildings • Climbing, crawling, crouching, or other non-sitting working positions. • Lifting up to 50 lbs, and carrying, pushing, pulling objects heavy objects with appropriate industrial equipment • Visual/mental concentration on specialized equipment and instruments
Basic Qualifications • Associate's degree & 4 years of directly related experience OR • High school diploma / GED & 6 years of directly related experience
Preferred Qualifications • cGMP experience • SAP experience • Familiarity with basic inventory and warehouse management practices • Proficient computer skills (i.e. SAP, MS office applications) • Good written and verbal communication skills • Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines • Good problem solving skills • Ability to interact constructively with peers and clients • Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced, team environment • Ability to work as a team and/or independently • Basic customer service skills • Class A drivers license with Hazmat endorsement • DOT/IATA hazardous shipment certification
