Job Description Summary: The Senior Test Technician safely handles, transports, assembles, modifies and tests explosive products. Sets up and conducts Acceptance, Qualification and Development tests in accordance with procedures. Assists Engineering in development and build-up of prototype hardware, repairs and maintains tooling and equipment as necessary. Has an in-depth knowledge of safety regarding explosives.
ESSENTIAL (1) Safely set up and conduct Acceptance, Qualification and Development tests in accordance with procedures.
(2) Perform complicated or urgent production jobs as required, e.g., loading and assembling components of various explosive devices.
(3) Build-up engineering prototypes or "first articles," often with limited engineering direction.
(4) Interpret information in the form of test work requests, manufacturing procedures, drawings, schematics and verbal instructions from Engineers and Supervisors.
(5) Interface with Government representatives, customers and co-workers
(6) Interpret drawings, procedures, work requests and verbal instructions related to testing.

Basic Qualifications: (1) Practical knowledge and skills as would normally be obtained through an AS Degree or equivalent work experience.
(2) Five years experience with ordnance products and/or test instrumentation/electronics.
(3) Ability to read and understand procedures, ability to prepare legible, accurate and complete data sheets.
(4) Knowledge of electronics and instrumentation.
(5) Familiarity with computerized data acquisition and data reduction.
WORKING CONDITIONS
(1) Safely set off explosive devices under arduous conditions.
