Strategic Sourcing Manager- Middle East, Mexico & India
Hamilton Sundstrand is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. We design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs. Our industrial products serve industries ranging from hydrocarbon, chemical and food processing to construction and mining.
Manage and drive low cost country part transitions from start to finish:
* Strategic thinker, leader and hands on seasoned manager
Manage the buying function for $20+ in low cost spend of suppliers in emerging markets, specifically in India, Turkey, Israel & Mexico
* Indentify, drive and prioritize cost reduction projects to ensure that the short and long term objectives for cost reduction and spend improvement for the emerging market regions are met
* Ensure that the day to day supply management transactions (Purchase order placements, on-time delivery corrections, escape management, expediting orders etc) are appropriately processed and the supplier executes well from a cost, quality and delivery perspective
* Manage a small group of transition buyers who's main task is to create seamless transition plans and track specific cost reduction projects, coordinating with the in-country team and the stake holders in the business to ensure that the desired results are achieved
* Focus on ensuring that supplier development plans are in place and regularly tracked to enable them to achieve UTC SupplierGold certification on an expedited basis
* Strong understanding of logistics and transportation especially as it pertains to import / export of products and technology
* Good understanding of ITAR, iClass, IECM processes and how to work under those parameters to achieve business results
* Manage a team of buyers/ transition specialist in the US to ensure that the transition process is seamlessly followed and the desired results are achieved with the appropriate support of the business units
* Liase with the in-country team in India and lead the negotiation and award of contracts
* Lead cross-functional kaizen teams to ensure that the transition standard work process is regularly updated apart from being diligently followed
* Support monthly reporting and consolidation of key metrics for region & suppliers
* Perform various supply chain management, lean manufacturing and product quality techniques and identify additional opportunities for process improvements
* Good understanding of Export compliance requirements related to release of technical data/ drawings, etc. of our low cost supply base while ensuring compliance to HS requirements
* Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of internal UTC/ HS long term agreement terms and conditions
* Good understanding of internal control policies related to sourcing decisions
Ability to multi task and meet critical deadlines. Strong people and interpersonal skills. Ability to present project ideas and status to team members, internal customers as well as senior leadership. Strong financial acumen to develop, understand and communicate business cases.

APICS Certification a plus
10-15 years progressive management experience in operations, supply chain management, purchasing or related engineering disciplines. High energy and motivation levels to drive targeted cost savings from idea to execution. Works well across multiple business units, functions and with external suppliers. Strong focus with International supplier development and working knowledge of local cultures in developing nations such as Mexico, India, Turkey, Israel.
