Job Description Summary: Responsible for managing the selection, development, and approval of domestic and international suppliers for the business, both in regards to components and special processes. Provide on-site support of suppliers in regards to supplier development, including analysis of supplier capabilities, risk assessment, and cost reduction initatives. Identify cost, performance, and lead time drivers, working with suppliers to reduce cost while improving quality and reducing lead time Basic Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, or related field. 8 years of experience in lieu of education. In addition, requires 4 + years experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, project engineering or similar position. Must demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing processes, and supply chain management/inventory control. Must have experience with new supplier launch and/or program management techniques and understand total landed cost. Prefer experience with low cost country sourcing. Experience working on and leading multiple projects in a team environment, working with multiple departments and functions such as Engineering, Marketing, C.I., and Operations preferred. Must demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills along with self-motivation, organization, problem solving and project management skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office tools, with emphasis on Excel. Ability to read and understand blueprint drawings with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Ability to coordinate and train others on new processes and procedures and present to all levels and customers. % Travel Required: 20 - 30%
