In 2008, the Quality Organization within Chrysler became its own standalone function. Since then, the group has more than tripled in size. This growth is a testament to the commitment of Chryslers' senior management to produce a top-rated quality product. In setting high standards in the six types of quality: reliability, dissatisfaction, regulatory, perceived, performance, and service, Chrysler's product line and customer experience has improved dramatically. The teams within the Quality Organization are empowered to improve customer satisfaction for their system or area. As a result, Chrysler now has the best quality in the 73-year history of the company.

Currently we are seeking a Supervisor -- Quality to join our Quality Organization at Chrysler's Belvidere Assembly Plant in Belvidere, Illinois. This position offers the selected candidate an opportunity to be an internal part of company whose focus is to change the automotive landscape. The Supervisor -- Quality is responsible for managing UAW work teams in a fast paced high volume automotive manufacturing environment to execute standardization of manufacturing quality enablers. The selected candidate will supervise hourly quality inspectors and repair area personnel and hold responsibility for various business metrics of the department. Additionally, the ideal candidate possesses a broad knowledge of manufacturing and quality landscape, presents outstanding teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills and unquestionable integrity.

The selected candidate will:

• Supervise and develop the performance of the hourly Quality work team
• Provide the continued improvement of company-wide quality performance
• Provide technical support between Engineering, Production and Product Design Departments and as needed will investigates quality concerns internally, at supplier and customer sites
• Initiate the corrective action team and is responsible for monitoring and implementing corrective and preventive actions
• Maintain quality inspection documents and systems utilizing SPC (Statistical Process Control) techniques
• Coordinate quality related activities to achieve business metrics of the department
• Establish and maintain the documentation of manufacturing processes
• Demonstrate people management experience
• Quality-minded, critical thinker

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in technical field
• 3 years or more of quality or management experience
• Ability to work a split shift work pattern
• Understanding of SPC tools
• Demonstrated use of MS Office products
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated use of problem solving tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
