Supplier Quality Systems Specialist 1
This employment opportunity is an entry level coordinator position with Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Supplier Quality team. Our Supplier Quality team is located in the greater Seattle Area and currently employs an on-site staff of ~30 people. IDS Supplier Quality supports several important government and military hardware and modification programs including such programs as the Air Forces F-22 Raptor (fighter) program, the Airborne Warning and Control Systems (AWACS) program, the Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) program, and the Navy's Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft, also known as the P-8A Poseidon program.
The successful candidate for this job will work in a fast paced, dynamic team environment and will assume the role of a Supplier Quality Coordination focal for quality issues and communication between Boeings supply chain and the programs. He/she will work with our site procurement; engineering and site quality representatives to identify and validate Boeing's quality requirements are flowed throughout the supply chain. The selected individual will work in an atmosphere rich with career development opportunities obtained by mentoring, coaching and team building with other motivated and talented quality specialists. The current SQ site team is made up of a very diverse group of individuals with experience ranging from recent new-hires (less than 2 yrs experience) to over 30 years with the company. This knowledge base allows our team the flexibility to provide a challenging and success oriented work environment for our employees.
The successful candidate will be introduced to and develop skills in such areas as:
ISO9000/AS9100 Quality Requirements, Team work, Leadership skills, Project Management skills and the importance of Communication. They will also develop an understanding of Boeings supply chain management concepts. Boeing is very proactive in supporting continuous learning and provides several on-hours and off- hours learning opportunities.
Competencies Needed:
1) A highly motivated individual who wants to learn and excel. The successful candidate will be adaptable, flexible and can multi-task with an attitude toward customer satisfaction.
2) Have the ability to develop and use statistical methodologies. The candidate will compile, analyze and interpret data to support trending & corrective action planning. Data analysis, trend analysis and the use of statistics is a plus.
3) Experience using Microsoft office tools. The candidate will use Word, Excel and PowerPoint in their daily jobs. Experience using an Access data base is a plus.
4) Interpersonal skills. The candidate will interface was a broad group of professional & technical individuals. They must be able to communicate both written and verbally in a concise, open & honest manner. The candidate will also be a change agent, working with others to bring about improvements in supplier quality.
5) Presentation Skills - The candidate will prepare and brief information to all levels of Management. A history of public speaking or presentations in a technical forum is a plus.
6) Educational Credentials - Preferred candidate to have completed an ABET accredited college program leading to a BA/BS degree.

They will need to learn quickly, be a team player, be flexible, and willing to learn/create new processes to adapt to process improvements and different organizational roles. Proficiency in MS Office applications required.
