Description
Primarily responsible for assisting the Site Master Production Scheduler in managing, establishing, reviewing, and maintaining the master schedule at BASF's West Memphis, AR site. Additional responsibilities include maintaining proper and cost efficient inventory levels of the BASF products produced at the West Memphis site with the objective of providing the highest level of customer service at the least total cost. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Participates in Sales and Operational Planning meetings.
• Helps the Master Production Scheduler establish inventory targets based on the financial cash flow and reliability service objectives of the business group
• Recommends and pursues appropriate disposition of returned, damaged, aged and off-spec inventory with marketing or plant personnel as required
• Monitors sales forecasts vs. actual sales, inventory levels and production schedules for deviation from plan initiatives and develops corrective action
• Identifies, coordinates and maximizes opportunities to provide a competitive advantage in customer service and inventory management
• Maintains data in SAP and uses SAP to perform planning and scheduling duties.
• Actively participates in all site safety enhancement programs i.e. SEP, 5S's, etc.
Qualifications
• 2-4 years experience with the types of products and production environment being planned, previous supply chain experience a plus
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent organizational, communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills
• Excellent internal and external customer focus
• Experienced in working effectively at plant and corporate levels in and across a functional environment
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter
• Basic understanding of SAP and MRP concepts
• Knowledge of querying/database/spreadsheet applications
