Duties
Bowhead is looking for a Systems/Network Administrator who’s responsibilities include system administration and customer support of servers and workstations in a Research, Development, and Testing, and Engineering (RDT&E) environment.  The System Administrator must demonstrate experience in Windows & Linux system administration and will be expected to provide technical problem solving and in-depth consulting for problems involving system operations. Duties will include working as part of a team responsible for administration and management of servers, end-user workstations, and potentially clustered systems operating in both unclassified and classified network environments.  This includes analysis, design, and implementation of modifications to the system software in order to improve system performance, correct errors, or fulfill specific needs. Administrators participate in planning new hardware acquisitions, developing operating policy, interacting with vendors, educating customers, and communicating and collaborating with other projects within the organization.
Work closely with scientists and engineers to help them use workstations and servers to solve their computationally intensive problems.  Support of individual user workstations and associated software will be required.  Support for application installation, licenses management, software tracking/distribution and backup/recovery of system configurations and user data files.  Assist users in applying for accounts, and approving user access.
Will be Communications Security Materials System (CMS) read and authorized to receive and courier CMS materials.
Required Skills

Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated experience in system administration of Windows/Linux-based servers and Windows/Linux-based workstations is required.  Hardware experience with HP and Dell systems is required. Specific experience with the following operating systems and services is highly desirable:  Enterprise Red Hat, and Windows Server with Active Directory.  Demonstrated experience working in an environment with rapidly changing job priorities is necessary.  Well developed Windows & Linux system management skills are required.  Demonstrated experience managing the installation and maintenance of IT infrastructure is desirable.
Must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) criteria.  Selected candidate must attain Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification within 6 months from date of hire.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to maintain a clearance at the SECRET level.
