| T&C Mechanized Engineering Leader<br/>Location: Hanover, NH<br/>Employment duration: Full time<br/># of openings: 1<br/>Shift: 1st Shift<br/>Pay range:<br/><br/>Description<br/><br/>Overview:<br/><br/>This senior position will have direct responsibility for technical associates within the business team and will interface closely with the various functional and cross-functional teams across Hypertherm. Must provide high level technical direction in product design, cost management, and project schedule attainment. The Engineering Team Leader will be responsible for collaborating with the Business Team Leader, Product Marketing Manager, Operations Leader and complementary functions on other business teams to refine overall product strategy and evaluate the feasibility of incorporating new technologies to ensure continued business growth as a worldwide recognized technical and market leader. Provide engineering and strategic product guidance to the business team as a member of the core steering team through strategic planning, team meetings, quarterly reviews, project planning and business plan execution.<br/><br/>Responsibilities:<br/><br/>* Responsible for setting direction and leading engineers in programs and projects for the Business Team<br/>* Support NPD requirements through creation and implementation of short-, mid-, and long-term team development plans. Initial job will require approximately 50% plasma process engineering and/or torch engineering and 50% leadership and project management. As the team develops over the next several years, the responsibilities will transition to approximately 20% engineering / 80% leadership and project management.<br/>* Ensure the closure and resolution of all cross-functional technical issues across business and functional teams.<br/>* Build consensus between competing interests through making difficult yet necessary decisions.<br/>* Drive the project team on design requirements, cost, schedule, and to negotiate and manage resources with the appropriate functional teams to assure they meet project requirements. Provided project level technical direction.<br/>* Work closely with marketing to assure products meet marketing / engineering specifications and a successful launch process (manuals, brochures, service, etc.).<br/>* Discuss and communicate project status to project team members and Business Team Leaders resulting in influencing direction/decision/outcomes. Present necessary product briefings and prepare phase reviews.<br/>* Build and sustain project team spirit / drive; works to resolve differences and conflicts; initiates efforts to overcome project team barriers; acts as a facilitator to ensure project team interaction is effective and results-oriented.<br/>* Facilitate and execute end user and channel partner contact including VOC, field testing, optimization, training support, etc.<br/>* Develop and manage budgets for facility, capital, expense, and project management.<br/><br/>Required Qualifications-<br/><br/>Education:<br/><br/>* Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering technical discipline (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, plasma process or equivalent)<br/>* 5-10 years of engineering and industry related experience.
