Technical Manager - 4WD, Driveline, and Axle Product Engineering
The Technical Manager for 4WD, Driveline, and Axle Product Engineering is responsible for the core design/development/release of all Chrysler Group LLC driveline, AWD/4WD, and Axle systems/components. The chosen candidate with be responsible for the Center of Excellence and Core Technical Expertise for manual transaxle, driveline, and AWD/4WD systems and components. The successful candidate will be expected to report status on issues or projects to the Senior Leadership team. The position will require the candidate to work across many disciplines to ensure that the vehicles project plans are successful with regards to resources, functional requirements and timing. The Manager must set internal goals and develop existing processes to ensure quality and budget goals are met. The candidate will be accomplished at creating a team environment creating clear direction, alignment and commitment. Provide employee performance feedback at yearly reviews, coach senior professionals in leading groups and planning resources.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university • Minimum 15 years' experience in Product Engineering in automotive or similar industry • Design, development and release background in powertrain/driveline, or chassis systems • Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead core engineering group • Demonstrated core technical skills • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university • Proactive quality experience strongly desired; DFSS, RSDV, Shanin Methods, DFMEA, Reliability Growth Plans, etc. • Involvement or leadership in technical organizations such as SAE or USCAR • Experience in use of virtual tools and Knowledge Based Engineering analysis for driveline
