Invensys Operations Management is a global technology, software and consulting organization. We design, manufacture, install, test and commission software and computer-based hardware for the automation and regulation of industrial and facility operations, the management of certain administrative functions of manufacturing businesses, and simulation of manufacturing process operations. We also provide control, data and measurement instrumentation solutions and services to manage specific parameters of the manufacturing process for the global industrial control and process markets.
Primary Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for technical content of projects and ensure that the most cost efficient and feasible solutions are implemented to provide sales with the technical support to sell the solutions developed. To assist the Project Manager to ensure that the correct resources are applied for successful result.
Principle Relationships:
Reports to the Project Director, and is responsible to the Operations Manager for all technical matters on the project. Manages the technical solutions and the technical team on a project.
Key Tasks:
1) Acquires knowledge of Invensys systems (hardware/software), its features and capabilities. 2) As a Technical Manager, is responsible for the technical implementation of the project, resolution of all technical issues and directs the effort of the technical project team. 3) Responsible to the Project Manager/Operations Director in the maintaining of profit margin and cost cutting. 4) Provides complex application and process control engineering support, including hardware engineering and software configuration for all process industry. 5) Assists Systems Sales and provides technical support in the preparation of the quotation for the tendered project, such as system configuration review, system engineering estimates, hardware and software functional definition, etc. 6) Development of more efficient ways of improving work methods. 7) Ensure jobs are performed within allocated budget. 8) Coordinating with outside contractors and suppliers to ensure that Invensys gets the best deal possible. 9) Supervises, evaluates the performance and provides on-the-job training to the systems engineers/technicians reporting to him. 10) Provide leadership and acts as interface in inter-group / inter-department activities. 11) Performs all engineering procedures in accordance with the Engineering Procedures Manual, and any other tasks, which may be assigned from time to time.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Experience Required:
- 10-15 years experience in a variety of technical roles. - Managerial experience. - Detailed knowledge of Invensys products. - Working knowledge of broad range of supporting products. - Familiar with broad range of application codes of practice/standards, especially Aramco. - Good communication and interpersonal skills, strong technical leadership. - Able to undertake managerial role when required. - Preferably fully conversant in written and spoken Arabic as well as English.
