Technical Sales Rep - Bandsaw Specialist Based in the Houston, TX area, covering the Houston area as well as the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
World Wide Industrial, a division of Snap-on Incorporated, has an immediate opening for a professional outside sales specialist to represent the Bahco® brand name of bandsaw products, to industrial customers in the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
Job Description: This position will work with industrial distributors, manufacturing reps and agencies and/or direct sales to identify and evaluate production end users and stimulate additional product demand with current accounts and develop new customer accounts. Working with other company support to help "close the sale", and grow the territory is a key objective for this position. The assigned territory will cover the Texas saw industry markets with an emphasis on Texas and surrounding region. As the bandsaw industry changes, the territory assigned may be modified to meet growing demand. Majority of travel will be in Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana; however, this position may require (50-75percent) overnight travel.
Requirements:
Job Requirements: BA Degree in business, marketing or equivalent sales experience required. An Associates Degree in machining or other technical/mechanical equipment is a plus. Candidates must be willing to travel to customer locations and to meet with customers, distributors and / or end users. Overnight travel (50% to 75%) is anticipated. A valid driver's license is needed and must be maintained. Must have a minimum of 3-5 years outside sales experience in an Industrial environment and with distributors and/or agency reps.
Prior technical training in metals, metallurgy, cutting tools and previous experience working as a machine operator, or experience in the sawing industry is a plus. Must be mechanically inclined and capable of operating / adjusting machines, technical knowledge of metal cutting tools and other equipment will be needed to succeed. Must be proficient in using the internet for research, able to work with spreadsheets and databases and efficient working in all Microsoft Office suite products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint software is also required. The position requires solid organizational, customer service, presentation skills and ideally be able to communicate effectively and appropriately to various levels in an organization. The ability to convey enthusiasm along with product knowledge to close a sale is required.
