Technical Services Representative
Department: Customer Service Techline
Reporting to: Manager, Technical Services
Hours: 11:00 am – 7:00 pm, Monday - Friday
This position is responsible for supporting the proper application and inquiries as they relate to a technical nature on all Leviton product categories. This position works closely with internal and external customers on a technical level.
Major Functions:
1. Responds to all technical inquiries on Leviton product lines via internet, telephone and fax. 2. Communicates problems and needs of the customer / caller to other functions within the organization. i.e. marketing, sales, product managers, engineers, quality assurance, etc. 3. Insures timely response to all pre and post sale caller questions of a technical nature. These questions may come from; field sales, customer service, distributors, home owners, contractors, Specifier, architects, etc. 4. Communicates any and all related product issues with sales force, customers, end users and various areas within the Leviton organization, regarding product information, specifications and applications of new and existing products. 5. Specifies standard and specialized products according to individual needs. 6. Aids customer service by supporting customer technical caller requirements of a higher level of a technical nature 7. Critiques and proofs technical communication documents for accuracy of a technical content
Skills and Abilities:
· Must have excellent communication skills(oral and written) and interpersonal skills · Must have excellent PC and Internet skills · Must have excellent technical problem solving skills · Must have experience wiring electrical devices · Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed
Education and Experience:
· Associates in Arts (AA) certificate or higher required · Minimum 2 years customer service and/or product support experience in technically related industry, familiarity with the national electrical code preferred · Experience with residential lighting, automation, control, audio / video, telecommunications and data communications highly preferred · Fluent in Spanish a plus
