Gerber Scientific, Inc. is looking for a Technical Support Specialist to work in our Service department located in Tolland, CT. Responsibilities:
* Diagnose and repair hardware malfunctions on all products via telephone. * Assist customers and FSE’s to perform preventative maintenance, repairs and component replacement. * Has knowledge of and relies on commonly used troubleshooting concepts, practices and procedures. * Travel to customer sites as required completing repairs in support of field operations. * Accomplish goals by planning tasks according to experience and knowledge. * Performs a variety of tasks. * Provide diagnostics and repair of hardware malfunctions of customer systems via telephone. * Order parts as required for equipment repairs, upgrades and installations * Properly document all call activity details into SAP including submitting accurate records of test reports and service reports. * Follow up with customer call queue activity within the specified time periods as designated by management * Sustain superior skills on assigned products with respect to troubleshooting, repair and maintenance techniques. * Ensure service fail-safe procedures are met * Provide back up site support as directed by management Qualifications:
* Electronic Knowledge * Schematic Knowledge * Computer Repair Knowledge * Networking Knowledge * GSP Product knowledge a plus * Associate’s degree, military school or equivalent * 3-5 years of experience in help desk or related field * Excellent interpersonal relationship skills * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Capable of sustaining high energy self-motivation on a daily basis * Periodic domestic travel required * Strict attention to detail in all maintenance operations * Must strive to foster a positive work environment with co-workers and management. * Must be willing to work in a lean business environment Apply for this job: Your application choices are: * Apply for this job online * Refer a friend to this job
