DESCRIPTION Summary Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our on-site engineering team in Clarion, IA. Hagie Manufacturing is a leader in the agricultural industry in providing crop protection solutions to customers. As a member of our team, you will work to develop and write technical operator manuals, hydraulic and electrical schematics, and also parts manuals for our products. A successful candidate must be able to adjust to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. This position reports to the CAD/BOM Coordinator and Design Engineering Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Duties will include creating and updating operation & maintenance manuals, shop (service) manuals and parts books and other materials as-needed. · Creates, develops, and maintains reference documentation (e.g. manuals, procedures, technical specifications, proposals, etc.) used by customers or staff. · Works closely with departmental personnel (engineering, production, and quality control) to ensure accuracy of instructions and procedures being written. · Review, edit, and revise existing procedures and documents · Maintain records and files of work and revisions · Creates and maintains electrical and hydraulic documentation with guidance from engineering team · Works with engineering to drive consistency in drafting techniques, aids engineers with drafting occasionally · Work with engineers and operations management to gain understanding of the expectation of the final product · Translate unfamiliar concepts into easy-to-follow procedures for non-technical audiences using the proper mix of text and artwork.
REQUIREMENTS Job Requirements · High School Diploma with 2 years technical diploma or equivalent experience · Computer skills MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat · Proficiency with AutoCAD and Solid Works or other 3D CAD product · Minimum 2 years' experience in drafting in a manufacturing/engineering setting is required · 2 years or more as a technical writer showing progressive skill acquisition in the discipline. · Some understanding of hydraulic and electrical schematics · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required · Strong working knowledge of editing, proofreading, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. · Strong interpersonal skills are required for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with technical developers. · Must have a quick aptitude for learning unfamiliar concepts on machine operation. · Must be extremely detail-oriented and have above-average proofreading skills.
