|
MECHANICAL / ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN contract opportunity in southeastern North Carolina. Assignment length approximately 12 months. Travel up to 10% domestic. Area candidates.
Responsibilities:
-> Support engineering in troubleshooting, process start-up, design, and documentation of Mechanical and Electrical Systems for new or modified production equipment
-> Direct maintenance and outside contract personnel in the construction, testing, installation, and debugging of this equipment
-> Create and modify existing documentation to complete drawing packages, installation checklists, machine part lists, illustrations, and machine specs of production equipment
-> Prepare work orders, procure materials
-> Provide sketches or marked-up drawings
-> Assist in analysis and improvement of equipment installation practices to improve installation efficiencies
-> Develop cost reduction recommendations
Requirements:
-> AS Degree or two year technical training in related area
-> Minimum 5 years experience installing, testing, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment and systems
-> Need knowledge in the areas of motion control knowledge ( servo, stepper, DC, AC drives ), process variables ( flow, temperature, rate, pressure, level ), current loops, serial communication knowledge ( RS232 / 485, Ethernet, IEEE-488 ), machine control knowledge and classical control theory
-> Need electromechanical troubleshooting ability and proficiency with schematics
-> A PLUS to have working knowledge of AutoCAD experience, Windows, MS Office suite, PLC , and PC based systems
-> A PLUS to have working familiarity with multiples of: Fluke Meters, Oscilloscopes, and other electronic test equipment, Programmable Controllers, Electronic calibration equipment, Precision flow calibration
-> Experience interfacing with engineers cross technical disciplines in areas related to mechanical and electrical equipment and systems
-> Ability to interface with, support, and train maintenance and contract workers and serve as liaison with vendors supporting this work
