Description
The Production Test Technician independently performs a variety of tests and evaluations on products and will determine and report pass/fail conditions in a timely and effective manner to maintain the health and productivity of the line and ensure production is meeting delivery requirements. Responsibilities & Duties: * Independently conducts a general (visual) inspection of product assembly/ configuration * Accurately follows documented procedures to set-up, run and tear down tests * Determines pass/fail based on test result * Independently troubleshoots and repairs units under test in non standard conditions down to the circuit level * Independently identifies faulty test equipment; troubleshoots and repairs wear items or makes recommendations for repair of test equipment * When product fails following troubleshooting, escalates to Manufacturing Support Technician * Adheres to all safety policies and procedures. Emphasizes compliance withNFPA 70-E guidelines * Provides guidelines to Test Operators for maximizing safety in non-standard working conditions * Proactively identifies potential safety issues through audits and periodic validation checks (e.g. E-STOP) * Proactively identifies and participates in the implementation of lean initiatives and projects * Recommends and participates in development and documentation of new work processes for developing standard work practices (beyond just the test procedure) * Identifies and provides solutions to equipment reliability issues * Proposes changes to clarify written test procedures to MPE * Conducts Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) process Qualifications: * AS degree, Electronic Engineering or equivalent * 4 years experience in related field Skills: * Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving skills * Proficiency with digital and analog electronics * Proficiency with data acquisition equipment (oscilloscopes and logic analyzers) * Ability to understand and interpret complicated schematics, blueprints, bill of materials, assemblies and drawings * Strong communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) * Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment * Experience with Lean manufacturing tools * Basic understanding of microcontroller based products Physical Demands: * Ability to lift 50 pounds. * Ability to work comfortably in a production environment * Ability to stand for long periods of time * Ability to do repetitive motion
