Test Technician II / PS Tester
Job Description: Under limited supervision, performs a variety of semi-routine tasks to ensure production quality standards are met. Performs the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Performs hand set-ups for digital tests. Recognizes failures and set-up problems, and determines need for appropriate verification. Operates programmable auto-testers, samplers, real-time oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies, and special test fixtures. May prepare written reports. Performance of tasks requires use of judgment and technical training. Typically requires a college degree or technical education and 1 to 3 years related experience.;
Additional Job Description/ Position Summary: In this position, the tester is responsible for implementation of a test plan. The tester performs the test and indicates the results and status within the appropriate reporting guidelines. The tester documents the actual results and gathers the appropriate technical software detail and enters into the designated Issue Management System. The tester will interface with subject matter experts throughout the project to provide details of the executed tests.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Conduct testing on Clients products in preparation for product release to customers.
Review and comprehend business requirements and specifications.
Employ software testing methodologies consistent with the requirements of the system development life cycle.
Responsible for performing unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, functional testing, client acceptance testing, user interface testing using the plans, tools, and scripts developed.
Facilitate the development team through diagnosis, problem recreation and prioritization.
Issue tracking and communication is expected through generation of reports, as well as status of testing coverage for assigned software projects.
Basic Requirements
Associate Degree in a technical discipline
2+ years experience in software testing and quality assurance
Practical working knowledge of software testing methodology
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent analytic and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Requirements
Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline
1+ years implementing test plans, scripts, and scenarios
1+ years on problem report tracking software (MKS, Compuware Test Partner, HP Quality Center or other)
Experience in testing Healthcare Kiosk products or related software testing in Healthcare Industry
