Job Description Eaton Corporation in Van Wert, OH has an immediate opening for a Journeyman Toolmaker.
Education - minimum Journeyman tool maker with 6 years or greater documented work experience in the tool make trade. HS Diploma or GED required as well.
Skills of job Making tooling and fixtures to print specifications using hand tools, precision measuring tools and gages, lathes, milling machines, and grinders (cutter, surface, cylindrical, radial, axial) both manual or CNC and EDM machine.
Requirements: safety glasses, safety shoes, and protective clothing. Also, do not wear watches, rings, jewelry, loose clothing or long unrestricted hair that could get caught in moving equipment.
Principle Purpose of job Perform all processes required to make/repair/recondition, production and development tooling.
Job Functions:
1. Interprets tool on fixturing layouts and prints.
2. Proficient in use of all types of hand tools, measuring tools, and optical tools.
3. Proficient in use of lathes, mills, grinders, or EDM.
4. Proficient in furnace and flame heat treating.
5. Makes tooling and fixturing per print.
6. Teams with Production and Engineering employees in problem solving.
7. Continuously improves tooling or fixturing designs and documentation.
8. Trains apprentice or co-workers as directed by Team Leader.
9. Works with maint. and production to build and modify tooling and machine parts with and without prints.
10. Creates and maintain a safe work environment and practices safety for himself and others at all times.
11. Gage modification for gage lab.
12. Generate prints, for engineering updates and design.
13. Maintains the toolroom, facility, equipment, and tooling in an organized safe and clean condition reflecting the plant 5S values.
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment with excellent ability to deal with a changing environment
-Must meet Eaton's attendance expectations - our associates are at work, on time, everyday.
-Successful completion of a drug and background screen is required
-Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for up to 8-12 hours per day, and deal with a manufacturing environment that could include heat, fumes and/or noise.
Position is on 2nd Shift - must be able to work 3pm-11pm.
-Entry level pay is $13.50 per hour, shift differential of $0.25, increases based on performance.
