Unit Assembler

Hamilton Sundstrand is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. We design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs. Our industrial products serve industries ranging from hydrocarbon, chemical and food processing to construction and mining.
Performs a variety of tasks involved in the assembly of compressor components, subassemblies, products, or systems. Works fairly independently or under minimal supervision by a group leader. Perform duties in accordance with Manufacturing Department/ISO 9000 written procedures.

Perform assembly of sub components into a system using precision handling techniques to locate proper configuration

Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other.

Performs on-line inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards. Identify workmanship defects.

Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times with minimum supervision

Maintain a clean and orderly work area

Meet production schedules daily.

Will be required to read blue prints, schematics, and work orders to complete assembly.

Will perform mechanical tests and utilize precision measuring tools (micrometer, caliper, tape measure, various gauges) to properly inspect assemblies.

Will document assemblies in computer system and on paper.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED required
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years of related working experience required
IND. EXP: Manufacturing, Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial, Assembly work, Heavy Industry, Space, Defense, Energy

2+ years of reading mechanical drawings and blueprints in required

Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines and production goals.

Experience with tight tolerances such as +/- 5 micons

Ability to maintain a safe working environment

Must be a team player

Participate in continuous improvement efforts in existing process.
