Unit Leader - BIW
The Unit Leader (BIW) is responsible for managing small work teams in a fast paced, high volume unionized manufacturing environment. Duties include coordinating all activities to achieve business metrics and to implement World Class Manufacturing (WCM) processes in coordination with other WCM Plant Pillar Champions. Duties will migrate to managing both Production Team Members as well as Skilled Trades employees as the migration to a new Body Shop occurs.
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum 3 years supervisory production or maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor employee team members
• Proficient in all MS Office products
• Must be willing to work any shift and overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in technical field or Engineering preferred
• Advanced degree preferred
• Knowledge of Body in White processes
• Experience with robotic automation, programing and troubleshooting
• Previous experience working in union environment
• Knowledge of welding processes ( I.E.., resistance spot welding)
• Strong background in LEAN Manufacturing
