Value Chain Planning Business Solutions Manager
General Characteristics: Facilitates the optimization of business unit performance by enhancing the alignment between business processes and information technology. Responsible for actively working with Business Group and Business Unit subject matter experts to resolve day-to-day technology needs of the business unit with a focus on the analysis of processes, dissecting problems and suggesting solutions. Includes complex systems process analysis, design and simulation. Specific areas of focus include: ï?° Developing business processes and Oracle configuration documentation to align with best practices associated with Operations Planning business functions: o Sales & Operations Planning o Manufacturing Planning and Scheduling o Supply Chain Planning & Procurement
Act as subject matter expert for the deployment and ongoing operation of the Oracle Value Chain Planning applications suite, including: o Demantra Demand Planning o Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) o Global Order Promising (GOP) o Supplier Network Optimization (SNO) o Production Scheduling (PS) o Rapid Planning (RP) o Inventory Optimization (IO) o Collaborative Planning (CP) o Production Scheduling (PS) o Service Parts Planning o Procurement o Advanced Planning Command Center (APCC) across Emerson by assisting Business Group Planning and Manufacturing management professionals
Provide oversight of Oracle projects assisting Business Group and Business Unit functional experts during the design phase and throughout the implementations of Oracle VCP application modules
Support Emerson Sales, Forecasting, and Operations Planning initiatives by analyzing current business processes, streamlining processes, and implementing appropriate solutions
Assist with pre-implementation activities such as site assessments, VCP demos, proof of concept workshops, and related product and process demos. Assist with other activities in Oracle manufacturing and planning as needed.
Must understand technical problems and solutions in relation to the current, as well as the future business environment. Must be able to suggest plans to integrate new and existing processes. Provides input and supports planning and prioritization for business process change related activities, including developing the business unit process plans and integrating those plans with corporate plans. Must possess manufacturing planning and operations knowledge and hands-on experience to leverage both business process improvements and IT solutions. Participates in continuous review and update to ensure that processes meet changing business unit and Emerson-wide requirements. Identifies processes for improvement, documents existing processes, identifies and analyzes gaps between current processes and the desired state, designs new processes, develops process performance measures and plans the transition to new processed. Provides counsel and leadership regarding future uses of technologies and business process improvements. This requires a high level of understanding of the organizationâ??s business systems and processes as well as industry-wide S&OP business practices. Responsible for development of enterprise software standards and best practices. Must demonstrate expertise in strategic planning, tactical execution, project management, process management and business systems requirements definition. . KNOWLEDGE â?¢ Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts. PROBLEM SOLVING â?¢ Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. Technical solutions provide enablers for the businesses to excel in their business plans. Consistent solutions provide for faster implementations with less risk and provide for strategic flexibility for future change across the broader business unit. LIAISON â?¢ Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications. EDUCATION / LANGUAGE â?¢ Bachelor's Degree in relevant business field or in Information Systems with relevant business experience. Or equivalent work experience â?¢ Fluent in English and any other designated language(s). â?? EXPERIENCE / SKILLS â?¢ 10 - 15 years experience required with Bachelors Degree â?¢ Experience in Sales & Operations Planning as well as implementation experience with Demantra as well as Oracleâ??s APS. Experience with Manufacturing & Procurement Systems is desired.
