Title: Virtualization Hardware / Software Test Technician Location: Hillsboro, OR Contract Duration: 12 months Description:
Our client develops network software and hardware that forms part of their line of networking connections. This project is testing these networking products in Virtualization OSs (such as VMware ESX, Xen, or Microsoft Hyper-V).
New LAN on Motherboard or Network Adapter designs will arrive in the lab for testing. Testing will be performed on `Virtualization OSs` (such as VMware ESX, Xen, or Microsoft Hyper-V). Testing is a combination of manual procedures and automated scripts. Tests will be executed and results collected and submitted for review and reporting. For procedures that are manual, new testing scripts will be developed and debugged. Existing and new testing scripts will be maintained. Timeliness, flexibility, positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills. Understanding of TCP/IP and layer 2 networking and switch configuration. Experience loading drivers and hardware on both Linux and Microsoft OS's. Above all we require a strong attention to detail for configuration settings and results reporting. Effective written communication skills at a near-collegiate level. Previous experience developing scripts in VBS, perl, or bash. Previous validation or testing experience. Previous experience with Software Testing Automation Framework (STAF).
1-3 years of experience in a production network environment, on a support line for a networking product such as Network Adapters, Switches, Routers, Cable Modems, DSL or dialup service, or equivalent training in a program such as Mt. Hood Community College's Associate of Applied Science in Network Engineering Support.
