AutoReqId 36164BR Function Manufacturing Division Residential Products Division External Job Title Welder Job Description Eaton Corporation, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, has an opening for a Welder. The primary function of the job is to perform routine hand-welding in a repetitive and non-repetitive nature on both standard and near-standard assemblies. This role reports directly to the Production Supervisor.
In addition, the job entails the following: A) Perform work from manufacturing information, bills of material, written and/or oral instructions. B) Utilize manufacturing information, determine necessary parts/inventory, fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas. C) Complete necessary preparation work such as wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding of components. D) Operate spot welders, arc welders, plasma TIG welder, MIG welder, cutting torch, power grinder, power sanders, hand-tools, bandsaws, drills, temporary fixturing devices, and other metal-fabrication equipment as directed. E) Inspect parts utilizing manufacturing information such as work orders or bills of material and make necessary adjustments as required. F) Maintenance of equipment such as dressing of welding electrodes, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and minor adjustments may be necessary. G) Maintain equipment and work area in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion; keeping oil deposits off of floor. H) De-burr, grind, fit components prior to welding. I) Grind and polish finished weldments as required in preparation for powder coating. J) Block fixture or position parts prior to welding. K) Provide assistance to other sheet metal fabricators/operators in performance of their duties as required. L) Keep accurate piece count and other applicable records. Inform Supervisor of any quality problems. M) Pick up and place scrap in appropriate containers and document as required. N) Deliver material to/from work stations using material handling equipment. O) Ensure correct parts and matching documentation reach next process in a timely fashion. P) Observe all health/hygiene and safety policies as directed and specified. Q) Complete necessary maintenance check sheets and inform Supervisor and/or maintenance personnel of any problems. Pay based on experience. Incumbent is responsible for complying with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, procedures, and orders related to OSHA which are applicable to the incumbents own actions and conduct, including bringing unsafe acts and conditions to the attention of Management.
