  • This company is seeking a seasoned Lead CNC machinist with a minimum of 8 years experience. The candidate will be responsible for the setup and operation of the CNC mill and Okuma CNC lathe. IPS serves a wide range of markets and develops machines or systems that automate a task or manufacturing process. Your objective is to work individually or with other IPS engineers to produce parts that meet or exceed customer expectations.

    CNC machinist job requirements

    • Minimum 8 years of professional work experience with CNC milling and turning.

    • Capable of maintaining strict professionalism, demonstrating effective verbal or written communication, and assist others when needed.

    • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials.

    • Ability to drive Machine Shop strategy aligning to IPS growth and effective machine utilization.

    • Experience with CNC mill and Okuma conversational lathe.

    • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and tooling, coordinating with procurement to ensure a smooth supply chain.

    • Assist in the design, development and manufacture of tools, fixtures, and other production needs for new and existing products.

    • Capable of determining errors in machine programming, such as speeds and feeds vs. poor work holding or damaged machinery.

    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings/prints.

    • Able to inspect parts utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

    • Ability to develop CNC programs using MasterCam software tools.

    • Have a working knowledge of G and M Codes.

    • Conventional mill and lathe a plus.

    • Effective troubleshooting and problem resolution skills

    • Must have own tools.
