Description:

• Grinding pieces to print

• Requires bringing the parts into the necessary dimensions. (Width, Height, and Thickness) and generally the material is some sort of tool steel.

• Remove metal by the application of abrasives which are bonded to form a rotating wheel.

• Rough and finish flat, cylindrical, and conical surfaces.

• Read and interpret charts, drawings, and blueprints.

• Determine product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground.

• Determine grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used.

• Mount grinding wheel.

• Dress wheel according to specifications.

• Use dressing devices.

• Position work rest to specified height.

• Confirm ground work piece has the correct specifications.

• Utilize micrometers, calipers, dial bore gages, and preset gauges.

Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVES

-3+ years' surface grinding

-Centerless Grinding experience

-Understand grinding principles

-Experienced in setup and operating A Cincinnati Centerless Grinder.

-Must have experience in holding very tight tolerances of .0002" to .0005" of an inch.

-Must own their own tools, a .000" to 1.000" and 1.000" to 2.000" set of Micrometers.

-Basic hand tools

PLUS

-Experience in operating a CNC Machine

-using a Surface Grinding Machine
