    Curia provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

    The Inspection and Packaging Operator performs Inspection and Packaging functions, including cleaning, inspection, pulling and processing of rejects, labeling, cartoning, shrink-wrapping, and completing and reconciling paperwork. The operator will train in all inspection and packaging functions.

    Responsibilities

    • Completes logs and paperwork before bringing products online, ensuring all reconcile to packaging batch records. Perform labeling, cartooning, and shrink-wrap processes ensuring proper labeling and placement of the product in cartons with inserts, etc. Reconciles and verifies labels.

    • Assist with daily cleaning of the department. Enter metric data into the computer as needed to track the process. Assist as part of the spill team upon completing specialized training and certification.

    • Understand and implements safety procedures and cGMPs. Obtains line clearance from quality assurance and brings products online. Cleans and inspects vials for glass defects, particulates, dirty vials, effect on stoppers, seals, etc.

    • Performs audits of inspected vials to ensure the execution of the process. Sorts reject during an inspection by categorizing, verifying, and completing the appropriate paperwork. Perform media inspections by checking for turbid vials.

    • Able to lift to 50lb when necessary. Pull samples of rejects and sends them to the appropriate lab for testing. Labeling of Chemicals/Reagents.

    • Responsible for staying current with all applicable job-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Able to stand or sit for extended periods, depending on the job task.

    Knowledge, skills and abilities

    • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED);

    • three (3) months of related experience and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

    Have the ability to apply basic math concepts

    Meet or exceed visual acuity, depth perception, and color requirements. Must receive passing test results on vision, color blindness, and depth perception eye exam. Must have clear eye site: up close (20 inches or less), at a distance (20 feet or more), color (ability to identify and distinguish colors), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), adjust focus (ability to change the eye to bring an object into sharp focus), and peripheral (ability to observe an area seen up and down or left to right while eyes are staring on a given point).
