    Purpose

    The Laser Operator is responsible for operating a laser, loading and running the 2D and 3D programs for the laser, quality measurements, continuous improvement, and knowing how to start and stop the laser safely. The Laser Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the laser.

    Essential Functions

    • Operate machine in a safe manner
    • Perform quality first piece inspections
    • Separate finished product from skeleton
    • Load and Run programs set by the Laser Programmer
    • Responsible for quality of product.
    • Know how to start and stop Laser properly.
    • 2D Program laser to nest parts for 2D cutting path
    • Load steel and unload parts from the laser and placed together per job order
    • Responsible for all material handling of laser parts
    • Repair of all nonconforming parts
    • DXFs updated and old files deleted when programming alert has been received
    • Keep necessary operational and quality records and complete required paperwork
    • Keep productive during job cuts
    • Implement continuous improvement ideas
    • 5-S responsibility for the area.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    Requirements

    1. High School Diploma or GED preferred
    2. Strong math skills
    3. Familiarity with material handling equipment, able to operator a forklift
    4. Ability to communication effectively, both written and verbal
    5. Able to read, write and speak in English
    6. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
    7. Analytical and problem-solving skills
    8. Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
    9. Must have excellent attendance as well as willingness and ability to work overtime
    10. Physically demanding task of unloading parts from sheet steel skeletons throughout the shift.
    11. Must be able to continuously lift 50 pounds.
    12. Must be able to pull and position steel sheets.
    13. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

    Physical Summary

    Compensation details: 20-25 Hourly Wage
