    The Warner facility produces steel and aluminum easy-open ends (EZO) for Ball’s metal food & household products packaging division. Future plans are to expand the plant’s products into lithography products and services. The location, when fully staffed, will employ approximately 110 employees. Located in Canton, Ohio, approximately 60 miles south of Cleveland, the plant has been part of Ball Corporation since 2015. Canton is home to many well-known national landmarks including the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame.

    Job Duties:

    Primary Purpose of Position:

    Assists in the management of the plant production function as directed.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment. This includes correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating monthly safety meetings, performing monthly safety inspections, and investigating accidents, as required.
    • Administers the direction and supervision of the plant production function as directed.
    • Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from the computer.
    • Initiates, reviews, masters, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.
    • Establishes and maintains an employee relations climate of trust and confidence that will discourage third party interference or establishes and maintains an employee relations climate of trust and confidence with employees, which will promote achievement of plant and company goals.
    • Work with pressman and prepress to make sure lithography quality standards are met per company requirements and customer needs
    • Work with supplier to resolve material issues with steel, coating, and varnish
    • Lead improvement teams to resolve quality and production issues

    Position Requirements:

    • Working knowledge of the following areas: business principles, legal practices, customer needs and expectations, product specifications and mechanics of the equipment, and MCO quality standards; generally accepted managerial practices and procedures; production principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures; company policies, procedures, and products.
    • Must have demonstrated mechanical proficiency.
    • Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
    • Must maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills.
    • Demonstrated results in improving operations significantly in a short time
    • Six Sigma and Formal Lean Manufacturing Training (Green or Black Belt Certification Preferred)
    • Use Continuous Improvement methodologies and Formal Problem Solving to improve productivity performance (SPC, process capability, pareto analysis, fishbone, 5 Whys, SMED, DOE, 5S, KPI, , VSM and kaizen events,** A3, 9 Step, 8D, etc.)**
    • Experience in Standard Work and Training
    • Ability to analyze downtime production data, look for trends, and make corrections to insure KPI metrics are met within the department
    • Strong Printing and prepress background and hands on experience (Offset printing preferred, flat sheet experience a plus)
    • Ability to work with customers and prepress to deliver highest lithography quality
    • Requires a 4 year Engineering or Technical degree or equivalent experience.

    Requires short-term and long-term domestic travel. (5% travel)
