Job Title: Machinist

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machinist responsible for dimensional and visual inspections of new parts, creation of new parts as per company dimensional drawings from castings or rough stock, and touch-up machining of used parts. The successful candidate will be familiar with machine operations on various materials and have experience with manual lathe and mill operations. Emphasis on safety and quality of work is critical in this role. This position involves working in a shop environment and occasionally providing field service as needed.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform all setups on tooling and machines.

• Operate all machines in the shop efficiently.

• Understand materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements, and machining techniques.

• Utilize shop math skills up to trigonometry level.

• Machine parts individually using production techniques.

• Work from prints and samples to machine parts.

• Machine parts from bar stock and raw castings.

• Re-machine parts to repair and maintain critical dimensions. Knowledge of 4 Jaw Chuck is required.

• Ensure personal safety and safety of others. Maintain excellent housekeeping standards.

• Participate in Safety, Quality, and Activities Committees if applicable.

• Conduct final inspection and complete inspection reports.

• Sign and document date compliance sheets.

• Adhere to all safety, quality, company rules, and regulations.

Education / Experience Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• 2+ years of industry-related experience.

• Mechanical related Associate's degree is a plus.

• Experience in the process control industry is beneficial.

• Strong understanding or experience with Fisher and Final Control products preferred.

• Experience in analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process-related problems strongly preferred.

• Shop environment, with some field service as needed.

Physical Demands

• Prolonged standing, lifting up to 35 pounds, bending, scooping, and repetitive motions.
