    SUMMARY

    Responsibility to ensure efficient operations of multiple facilities and equipment, as well as the care for all grounds and support equipment, through the direction of a technical support staff made up of leads, technicians, custodians, and the purchase of necessary outside technical and non-technical support services. Oversees technicians with various specialties and inspects work for completion and accuracy. Sets priorities for projects and work orders. Enforces safety and housekeeping practices. Maintains preventive maintenance programs. Ensures all maintenance records and documentation are properly managed.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supervise teams at multiple locations.

    • Lead by example and ensure employees follow all company safety rules and policies.

    • Ensure maintenance team works cooperatively and congenially with each other to achieve a cohesive and productive work environment. Promote and/or implement team-building initiatives when needed.

    • Ensure employees have the right tools and PPE to complete tasks safely.

    • Schedule employees and maintain Day Force time and attendance records.

    • Ensure maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance are completed and properly documented within the CMMS software.

    • Utilize CMMS software to measure and manage on-time performance and response times.

    • Inspect products fabricated and/or assembled by the maintenance team to ensure all work done meets or exceeds the standards of the company's quality & safety programs.

    • Promote and enforce company 5S program within the maintenance area, including assigning tasks and performing audits.

    • Create and/or maintain training plans and skill metrics for all maintenance employees, including coordination of any outside training.

    • Evaluate and council employees as required including documentation of annual performance reviews, verbal, and written warnings.

    • Manage maintenance tools and supplies.

    • Coordinate maintenance spend with MRO buyer to stay within budget.

    • Provide input on annual budget planning to keep supplies and parts on hand and ensure training programs are budgeted.

    • Ability to drive all company vehicles between properties, as needed, to relocate tools and equipment to accomplish assigned tasks.

    • Provide support to all contracted repairs or services and assist with approvals when needed.

    • Coordinate with other teams to provide support when needed, including, but not limited to, safety team, Manufacturing Engineering team, marketing team and HR team to ensure all company objectives are met.

    • Complete on-line safety, cyber-security and legal training as required.

    • Participate in Safety Committee meetings and inspections.

    • Assign and promote safety committee participation from the maintenance department.

    • Respond to all emergencies including after-hours emergencies as needed.

    • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management or as the situation requires.

    Education and Work Experience

    • At least 7 years of experience in general mechanical maintenance of production machinery to include reading blueprints, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, electrical, and ordering of machine parts required.

    • At least 10 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor or manager required.

    • General knowledge of OSHA regulations, LOTO procedures, arc flash awareness and ergonomics required.

    Certificates and Licenses

    • High School Diploma or GED required.

    • Current Forklift certification required.

    • Current Aerial lift certification required.

    • Must have current Texas Driver's License (required to drive company vehicles)

    • 10 Hour OSHA training required.

    • Brazing / welding certifications preferred.

    • Qualified Electrical Training preferred.

    • First Aid / CPR certified preferred.

    Job -Specific Knowledge

    • Knowledge of electrical wiring repairs and installation, AC/DC controls, blueprints, schematic diagrams, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

    • Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out procedures

    • Knowledge of compressed air systems operations.

    • Knowledge of general building code requirements.

    • General knowledge of OSHA regulations

    • General knowledge of ergonomics.

    Competencies

    • Ability to communicate both verbally and written in a clear and professional manner at all times. (bilingual a plus)

    • Ability to give and follow clear verbal and written instructions regarding procedures required for the various machine repair and/or installation.

    • Ability to use Limble CMMS software to create and close work orders/ work requests.

    • Ability to use email, word, excel and office software as needed to communicate with other team members.

    • Ability to use and to teach others to use a variety of small hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment including, but not limited to, forklifts, scissor lifts, electric pallet jacks and articulating booms.

    • Ability to prioritize and delegate maintenance tasks.

    • Ability to remain calm in stressful / difficult situations.

    • Ability to respond to building and equipment emergencies.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Physical Demands

    • Attend work regularly and report promptly for duty on the days and at the times scheduled by management.

    • Sit, stand, walk, up to a minimum of eight (8) hours per day on a concrete surface in manufacturing and office environments. Schedule may vary based on production needs and may require up to (10) hours in a day.

    • May perform combination of physical movements to reach areas difficult to access including bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, twisting and rotation motions using head/neck, arms, wrists, waist, knees, and arms while performing duties.

    • Frequently required to climb and descend a single flight of stairs.

    • Lift and carry components, tools, or other items weighing no more than 50 pounds. Any component, tool, or item weighing more than 50 pounds must be done with assistance.

    • Handle small hand tools, power tools, and unit components. Handling may be done unilaterally (one-handed) or bilaterally (two-handed) depending on size and shape of object and task being performed.

    • Must have corrected vision to be aware of surroundings and location of items needed,

    • Must have corrected hearing to listen to needs and advice of supervisors and co-workers and listen to the environment to be aware of surroundings.

    • Must be mentally alert and capable of remembering faces, names, oral instructions, and details.

    • Must be able to tolerate environmental conditions of plant which involves temperatures that may vary with seasonal changes and in which both normal and high levels of noise exist.

    • Must be alert and able to identify a safety hazard, should one occur, to avoid it and to report it immediately to the appropriate person or, if directed, by taking corrective measures to eliminate the hazard.

    • Must be able to react to changes in schedules in a productive manner and to handle other tasks as required by management.

    • Must be able to tolerate wearing designated personal protective equipment for the work assignment (i.e. safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, cut-resistant sleeves, hearing protection, harnesses, and safety shoes).

    Working Conditions

    • Will be exposed to foam chemicals.

    Hours of Work

    • M-F 5:30am - 2:30pm

    • Saturdays 5am-1:30pm when required.

    • Additional hours as needed.
