    Technical Operations/Maintenance

    Technical Operations includes the maintenance, and overhaul of our aircraft. This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.

    Job overview and responsibilities

    The Manager Warehousing & Distribution leads and directs a 24/7 direct unionized & non-unionized workforce. The Manager ensures government regulations are adhered to in the handling of all aircraft related parts and materials in accordance with applicable FAR's, CFR's and international regulatory agencies. Manages United Airlines' assets in a way they are secured and handled to ensure safe flight operations and safe distribution practices. Manages the Warehousing & Distribution team to ensure the achievement of quality and Service Level performance metrics. Ensures the coaching, mentoring, training and development of organizational employees. Directs and leads team in the accomplishment of their financial goals and objectives. Ensures Continuous Improvement is engrained within the organization and supports the development of certified Lean Six Sigma employees. May include Multiple Station Responsibility.

    • Responsibilities include warehouse management, design, optimization, inventory accuracy and control

    • Ensures distribution organization executes to meet daily operational needs

    • Oversee cost center expense to meet the financial plan

    • Responsible for maintaining employee relationships and programs, including local agreements

    • Provide employee with the tools and developmental opportunities through coaching, mentoring and training

    • Build a working together culture

    • Interfaces on a daily basis with internal and external customers to meet operational needs

    • Review performance metrics to assess performance and improvement opportunities for the organization

    • Partners and forms alliances with customers

    • Proactively supports initiatives to meet Divisional and Corporate objectives

    • Analyze data, performance issues and implementation of appropriate action plans/corrective measures to meet goals

    • Ensures adherence to company and regulatory procedures and policies

    • Drive continuous improvement to meet organizational objectives

    • Systematic use of continuous improvement tools and techniques to drive business results

    • Builds aggressive but achievable goals in conjunction with senior leadership, determined by strategic direction


    • Associate Degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field, or comparable management experience

    • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience

    • Managing and directing diverse employee groups, including unionized labor

    • Comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain Planning and Management

    • Strong Leadership, coaching and communication skills

    • Statistical Analysis and Process Control (SPC)

    • Self-Motivated Engrained Continuous Improvement experience

    • Microsoft Office Proficient

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

    • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

    • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


    • BA/BS

    • 3 years Logistics experience

    • Green Belt Lean Six Sigma
